Searching for cute bras to nurse in is hard enough when you’re not in a pandemic. Guessing the exact size your boobs are going to balloon to coupled with the new measurement for your postpartum girth, is far from an exact science. After countless hours of research, conducted in the dead of night once my tiniest best friend woke me for a night feed I’ve found some pretty epic numbers

How do you like your Nursing bras?

The first step before searching for the perfect nursing bras whether it be on Amazon or elsewhere is to decide your preferred boob access. Essentially decide how exposed you want your boobs to be at any given time. The majority of nursing bras can be broken down into four types “pull-aside”

Types of Nursing bras

“Curtain” Nursing bras that are normally made of stretchy material and have the least structure. The cups slide over each breast fully revealing a boob for your waiting child and then you just slide them back into place when you’re finished. These types of nursing bras are normally marketed as “sleep bras” as they are the easiest bras to use at one am when you’re half asleep trying to quiet a wailing baby

“open-air” these are snap-down bras that when both clasps are undone, your boobs are three sheets to the wind, completely exposed. Im not opposed to showing off the girls, its the fumbling to find the snap when you’re ready to close up shop that has me shy away from this style more often than not

“Balcony” nursing bras are the most commonly found on Amazon. They have a thin tether that goes from your bra strap to the band that encircles your rib cage. These nursing bras ensure that your bra strap stays within arms reach at all times

“window frame” these bras are my favorite types and for some reason the hardest to come by even on amazon. They provide a sort of frame for each member of your newly ample bosom
