Choose an Eco Friendly Picnic Mat

I believe the cornerstone to any great picnic is an epic picnic mat. Depending on who’s coming and where you’re going to be dining these are a few of my favorite options. For more ideas on what to bring on a picnic be sure to read this. Summer is almost upon us in the Northern Hemisphere so dreaming up sunny picnic locals is at the top of my list.

Faux leather Play Mat | These are a no brainer, as they’re essentially kid proof. Whether your picnic is on the sand or on the grass using these wipeable mats for your picnic will make your life easier. The material also makes it perfect for an early morning picnic on dewy grass, as it will keep you and your food dry.

Table cloth | The most sustainable picnic mat is one you’ve already got so why not whip out a cheering tablecloth and take it on the road. I’ve used this organic cotton table cloth as a picnic blanket, an actual table cloth and a head wrap on my most recent vacation to Martinique.

Picnic rug | I love picnic rugs as they automatically transport you to someplace else. A picnic rug ups the whole vibe of your picnic setup instantaneously. I use these and love the double sided canvas design and the tasseles make it a beautiful choice even when they’re rolled up. This summer I’m also thinking about investing in this one as the designs are simply out of this world, I think dining on these picnic rugs will have you feel like you’ve traveled to Morocco.
